Chennai Association celebrates 40th Anniversary

40th Anniversary Celebration

Shree Banaskantha Palanpur Jain Association, Chennai (SBPJA) held a day-long function on January 11, 2009 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the organization. The programme, which was attended by a number of distinguished guests from Mumbai, included visits to the ongoing projects of the association and a felicitation function in the evening.

The event began with the members and guests visiting a grain distribution centre in Tambaram, one of the seven centres through which nearly 2000 pre-screened underprivileged families receive monthly rations against production of their cards at highly subsidized rates. The members and their guests participated in the distribution.

In the afternoon, the guests visited the new premises of Lotus Blind Welfare Trust of India in Royapettah which is also supported by this Association. Following a prayer by the inmates, the guests were taken around and shown the facilities there.

Later in the evening at a function organized at Hotel Deccan Plaza, the guests were felicitated.   The associate organizations were also honoured.  To mark this occasion the “40 Year Odyssey” Magazine & DVD was released.
